006 – Morning Gold

I stood on the porch
Watching her
The next and better version of me
As she played amongst the sunflowers and green fields
Kissed by cotton white clouded blue skies

I realized
These bright lemon yellow sunlit mornings
With her and her wild hair full of excitement
Are the cherished moments
I never dreamt of when I was younger

I saw myself
Climbing Mountains
And drinking the best champagne

I saw myself
With a tall dark lover
On nameless crystal blue beaches
Without worries

It seems so far away
Blurred memories of imagination
And some poorly chased dreams
But I do not long for them

I smile
Thinking about how those dreams faded
Only to be replaced by better ones
The dreams
I now dream for her
